Celebrating A Century of Extravagant Welcome

(Our building is 100 years old; what a great excuse to throw a party!)

 FCCGE Block Party
Sunday Sept. 8, Services at 9 and 10:30
Block Party 11:30 – 1:30

RSVP HERE by September 2nd

This year we are mixing it up a little and having a block party to welcome back our new program year and two-service schedule! Fun for everyone: a bouncy house, face painting and of course, food! Come and bring your neighbors and friends. Right after the 10:30 service.

• Open to members, guests, neighbors and friends
• Food will be provided
• A bouncy house and other games for the kids
• Music
• Tables for community organizations we’ve partnered with through the years

Our welcoming spirit has opened the building to people of all faiths and backgrounds, and a variety of service organizations.

FCCGE was the site of many “firsts” in the community:

• First library (1914)
• First Glenbard West graduation ceremony (1917)
• First Kindergarten in GE (1898)
• The Boys’ Brigade (1898)
• First Boy Scout Troupe (1917)
• The Girl Reserves (1921)
• One Voice Choir (1983)
Home to other organizations
• Central DuPage Pastoral Counseling Center
• Glen Ellyn Youth & Family Services
• Bridge Communities

(Ministry Teams will have tables for information and sign ups during the weeks following the celebration, a few each week to enable more time for thoughtful focus and conversation with ministry team leaders.)
