Dear Member of FCCGE,
Greetings from the Moderator Team! We are fortunate to be a part of this vibrant community of people with a shared faith and diverse life experiences, strengths, and interests. Together, we are building a foundation from which we launch our responses to God’s promises and instructions to His people.
As we begin a new year, we invite members of this church to complete a brief survey indicating your current interests so we can work together to build a sustainable and inclusive foundation. The information collected through this survey will be accessible to church council, staff, and other church leaders as appropriate, for the purpose of matching your interests with the opportunities for service in our congregation.
For reference, we are sharing descriptions of our current lay-led standing committees and the staff-led ministries with their leaders highlighted. Our Ministries Booklet located in the pews provides information about these and many other opportunities to connect to dozens of additional ministries doing great work across our community.
Connections Committee (Chair Nicole Baedke) enhances the spiritual life of the members by fostering a culture of engagement. It is responsible for helping create an inclusive environment, fostering involvement, and coordinating member integration.
Finance Committee (Treasurer Matt Szafranski) provides financial oversight to build and preserve the financial resources necessary to support the mission of this church, both for the short and the long term.
Property and Grounds committee (Chair Tim Waterloo) accepts responsibility for the maintenance of the church’s physical properties to enable the congregations’ mission and ministries, seeks to reduce the church’s environmental footprint, achieve energy efficiency gains, and to understand and plan for future maintenance implications.
Service & Justice Committee (Chair Jill Hewitt) supports staff and fosters ministries in all aspects of worship and mission giving. This committee works with the Church’s various mission and justice ministries to provide opportunities for congregation engagement. We also work to help our mission partners operate effectively and we prayerfully manage the mission budget.
Education Ministry (staff led by Catherine Curtis) coordinates and supports Christian education and youth fellowship and adult education programming.
Music and Worship Ministries (staff led by Michele Hecht) committees consist of volunteer leaders of various music and worship ministry teams.
