Glen Ellyn Food Pantry Ministry Located at Grace Lutheran Church 493 Forest Ave. Glen Ellyn

Thanksgiving Meal Boxes The Glen Ellyn Food Pantry, located at Grace Lutheran Church at 493 Forest Ave. in Glen Ellyn Il., is an ecumenical endeavor of Glen Ellyn churches who cooperate in providing food and volunteers to serve people in our community who are in emergency. The FCC Glen Ellyn Food Pantry Ministry fills one spot on the Glen Ellyn Food Pantry Board, made up of representatives from 18 area churches. We are responsible for having a volunteer at the Pantry once a month who packs food orders for clients; additionally, we conduct an annual food collection in September.

First Congregational Church of Glen Ellyn (FCCGE) is one of a group of six churches that helped to establish the Glen Ellyn Food Pantry, currently housed at Grace Lutheran Church and overseen by a Board of Directors with representatives from 14 local churches and the broader community. The Pantry provides fresh produce, meat, dairy, bread and shelf stable goods to more than 33,000 people annually across the central DuPage area.

Please deposit shelf-stable food donations (no expired or open food) in the white bin in the Main Lobby. Pick up a list of items needed, donation envelopes, and a brochure. More information is on the Pantry website.

Glen Ellyn Food Pantry Thanksgiving Appeal
Every Thanksgiving, the Glen Ellyn Food Pantry distributes food boxes to over 600 local families in need. We will once again collect donations so that Thanksgiving meals are available to hungry neighbors. Consider helping the Pantry help our neighbors experiencing food insecurity. Any amount will help. Pantry clients will be able to select items they will enjoy for their holiday meal. Donation envelopes are in the Main Lobby or online donations are accepted here.

Holiday Shoppe

The Pantry is also hosting a Holiday Shoppe in collaboration with the Humanitarian Service Project (HSP) on December 19. The Pantry will provide HSP with names of clients who will receive gifts. HSP will then deliver the gifts to the Pantry. They will only be providing gifts for children ages 3 to 15. The Pantry is collecting towel sets to distribute to the adults in the families. If you are able to donate a new towel set, please contact Jennifer Darnall to schedule a pick-up. Towels need to be donated by December 16. FCCGE, along with other area churches, sponsors the Pantry through donations and volunteer efforts. Thank you for your ongoing generosity.
