Our staff recital went off without a hitch and was well received. It was a beautiful, cool evening filled with a variety of music, instruments and voices. Pastor Seth relived his glory days with and rocked the house. Click below to see the recital!
Fill the Earth with Music was performed last Sunday, April 28th with every pew filled. 50 voices, orchestra and guest soloists filled our hearts and souls with world music, sung in many different languages and styles. Matt Stout has created a very special, professional-grade video for us to enjoy (right). Thank you to our music staff, our choir and all of you for your support and delight in what was a very special morning in the life of our faith community.
Please join us for a morning of transcendent music –
a light in the darkness!
Illuminare is Elaine Hagenberg‘s first extended work, consisting of five movements for SATB chorus and chamber orchestra. Using lesser-known sacred Latin, Greek, and English texts, the piece takes us through a season of beauty and goodness that has been disrupted by darkness and confusion. But as Light gradually returns, hope is restored, illuminating our future and guiding us in peace.
Judges needed in several categories (visual arts, humanities, sciences, music). FCCGE has been supporting the DuPage ACT-SO program with our Royalties for Spirituals and with volunteers for the local competition. Our next offering will be on Cantata Sunday, March 16th.
Thursday evening, 7:00-8:30 p.m.
